Academy Awards 2012 – Die Show

Montag morgen, 5:45 Uhr war sie leider schon wieder vorbei, die 84. Oscarverleihung.
Doch zurück auf Anfang. Mit dem alt eingesessenen Host Billy Crystal sollte die Show nach 2,3 schwachen Jahren endlich wieder zur alten Stärke auflaufen.

Doch zunächst bekam man es auf „Pro Sieben“ zwar mit der blanken Angst zu tun, denn die ersten 3 Worte des Abends wurden simultan von einem Übersetzer (es hörte sich nach Steven Gätjen an) ins Deutsche übersetzt. Doch der Schock war nur von kurzer Dauer, denn danach war Ruhe um deutschen Karton und man konnte ungestört dem Oscar-O-Ton lauschen. Gott sei Dank.

Die Wiederbelebung der Veranstaltung gelang dafür direkt von Beginn an vortrefflich gut. Allein der Opener, der Crystal in diversen Szenen von nominierten Filmen zeigt strapaziert die Lachmuskeln bereits arg. Und das war erst der Anfang. Crystal schloss an das Spaß-Video mit einer famoes Eröffnungsrede und einem kleinen Ständchen an, in dem er scherzhaft weiter auf die nominierten Filme und Schauspieler eingeht.

Bereits so früh zu Beginn zeigt sich, was einen guten Oscarmoderator auszeichnet, denn spielend werden Anne Hathaway und James Franco in die Tasche gesteckt. Und auch die einstudierten Späße von Alec Baldwin und Steve Martin von vor zwei Jahren übertrumpft Crystal spielend, denn er wirkt jederzeit Spontan, auch wenn wahrscheinlich nur wenig spontan überlegt ist. Crystal ist locker aber trotzdem auch an den richtigen Stellen angemessen zurückhaltend und hat seine Späße perfekt getimed denn wirklich jeder trifft ins Schwarze.
Tagesaktuell gab es auch diverse Schelten gegen die Namensprobleme des einstigen „Kodak Theaters“ in dem die Veranstaltung stattfindet, welches nach der Pleite des Konzerns nun einen anderen Namen benötigt („We’re here at the beautiful Chapter Eleven Theater“).
